Our Name School is plural in our name to signify that this group includes alumni of all St. Paul Schools. As some readers will recall, until 1947 St. Paul had two public schools, St. Paul Public and St. Francis. In 1947, these two districts along with surrounding districts were combined to form St. Paul Public School. We hope alumni from all these schools enjoy this website and become active members of The Association.
"& Friends" in our name recognizes that our group includes all supporters of St. Paul Schools. Alumni and spouses, anyone who attended St. Paul Schools, parents of students currently enrolled, current and former staff members, may all support The Association's mission. We welcome all of our friends and did not want our name to exclude anyone. Our Motto Our motto, "St. Paul Schools - Quality Education Through Generations" reminds us of the fact that St. Paul Schools have a long and cherished tradition. The history of our schools details the continuous success of educational institutions on this site since 1847, evidence of over 160 years of commitment to the young people of St. Paul. Continuing this tradition, the St. Paul Schools Alumni and Friends Association is committed to continued quality education for current and future generations. |
